After one step in the door Darrin, the original owner greeted us and added his signature "have a sweet day". We have just come from two other candy stores and in retrospect we only needed to go to "Candy Heaven" He offered to get us a basket and when we checked out I asked about a specific candy and rather than pointing or directing he went and found it and brought it to me. Great ambience and I noted that he greeted everyone with the same welcoming enthusiasm. He sells merch and ships. I have a friend in the candy biz and that it sweet!

Love, love, love this place. I think I should buy some stock in this company. They get soooooo much of my money. They have all of the amazing candies that I used to eat as a kid. I can't drive past Old Sacramento without stopping by Candy Heaven. Thinking about this place makes my mouth water.

OMG! What a great candy store! What ever you want they have it. So many options to choose from and great customer service. Thanks!!!!

No trip to Old Town Sacramento is complete without visiting Candy Heaven! The staff are always super friendly. You walk in and it's wall to wall candies of all kinds. I love their salt water taffy and my kids love all their different chocolates. It's a hidden gem that definitely needs to be on your list!

Are you supposed to have a go-to candy story in your life? Because I do, and Candy Heaven is it. I remember as a kid going on trips to Old Sac and getting to come here and the pure joy it brought, and I'll tell you that I feel the same joy as an adult still! The store has an incredible selection of current and nostalgic candies, so kids and adults will both find things that interest them. And I have learned through many trips that you can get prizes in your bags based on the amount you spend (postcards, magnets).

This is the best candy spot in old town Sacramento and maybe in all of Sacramento. I have checked out all of them in old town and this is the one I go to. They have a large selection and excellent customer service. Other places are a little cheaper per pound but they don't have the best selection. It's just fun and not that expensive. They always give the kids candy. So much fun.

The store lives up to it's name, "Candy Heaven". So many nostalgic candies. I had a blast looking around and reliving the days of my youth! Barrels and barrrels of candy. Bit of honey, peanut batter candies, taffy, carmels, chewing gum... everything! We got there as it opened. The cashier was very friendly and greeted us. Already lots of patrons, browsing and buying. Prices are comparable. Had a great time at this candy stores. What a fun time reliving the past and bringing it to the present. Loved the experience!

Visited September 18th..see receipt as always. What a fun store to explore! So many retro candies and barrels of taffy! It's a great place to find candy that brings back childhood memories! I opted for a couple of chocolate dipped pretzels (one with m&ms) and a few other goodies. We snacked on them outside of the candy store with a iced coffee we picked up from Steamers . Fun place to visit! BTW..they do NOT have free samples anymore.

There are at least 4 dedicated candy/chocolate stores in old town Sac. This one anchors one end of the short 4-block strip and it is probably the largest. That's not to say it carries everything - in fact it's missing a lot of what the planet offers in the way of sugary treats but there's definitely something for everyone - from hard and soft candies and sours to nut/fruit-coated chocolates. The staff is Wonka-esque off-beat which is kinda neat. Prices are above average across the board and quality varies between average to above-average only, so you're primarily paying for location, presentation, and availability. My standards are spoiled though, as I hail from a locality with almost too many small/speciality custom confectionaries who exquisitely celebrate the unique - from dark chocolates made from scratch to ube and other exotic concoctions made farm-to-table. Peruse the entire strip before splurging? And be sure to have a cooler in the car to facilitate storage or transportation!

Old Town Sacramento has several candy in a barrel kinds of shops, and we went up and down all of the streets to determine that this one is the best for selection and ambiance. The barrel candy is about $6/half pound, which works out to be a lot of candy for any kid. There were unusual taffy flavors, some licorice chews I slipped in for myself, sesame crunches, and gummies every shape and flavor you might want: bananas, dolphins, teeth, eyeballs, turtles, LEGO bricks, etc. Priced separately were retro brands and sour slimes and specialty sodas. Etc, etc. It was a lot to take in. The kids liked the owner's sassy sense of humor and the freebies. It was a highlight of their day.
